Rallies Launched

Rev. Dr. W. Wilson Goode, Sr.The Children of Promise - Mentors of Hope program is through the University of Oklahoma OUTREACH located in Norman, Oklahoma. Reverend Dr. Wilson Goode, Sr. of Philadelphia, developer of the nationally known Amachi Program will be joining Children of Promise Mentoring program and the state wide Big Brothers Big Sisters for its Kick-Off Rallies scheduled Symoposiums in Oklahoma.

The Symposiums will begin on March 3, 2005 at the St. John's Episcopal Church located at 4200 South Atlanta Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. The second Symposium is scheduled for March 4, 2005 at the Prospect Missionary Baptist Church located at 2809 North Missouri, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Reverend Dr. Wilson Goode is the guest speaker. Invited guests include Lt. Governor Mary Fallin, Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune, Norman Mayor Harold Harrelson, Brad Yarborough, Representative Bill Nations, each of the Big Brothers Big Sisters executive directors John Jacobs, Diane Murphree, Anne Marie Liles, Angela Patterson, Amy Hoggart.

Dr. Wilson Goode is currently the Senior Advisor on Faith-Based Initiatives for Public / Private Ventures, where he also directs the Amachi Program, a faith-based national mentoring model for children of icarcerated parents. We are grateful to him for his support of the Children of Promise - Mentors of Hope initiative, which is based on his model. He has been recognized for his contributions by more than 2,000 organizations with awards, certificates and honors.
