Successful Rallies!

Reverend Dr. Goode at the rally in TulsaThe rallies launched in Tulsa and Oklahoma City on March 3-4, 2005 were a huge success! We had an estimate of over 100 people total in attendance. Individuals and groups from both Tulsa and Oklahoma City signed up to volunteer as the host of a mentor site, an individual mentor, or demonstrate support for Children of Promise-Mentors of Hope in another way. Thanks to St. John's Episocpal Church in Tulsa and Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for hosting us!

We are also very thankful to Turley Correctional Center and Mabel Bassett Correctional Center for allowing us to speak with some of the women inmates about Children of Promise-Mentors of Hope. Over 50 inmates expressed the desire to enroll their child(ren) in the Program. Our staff is working dilligently now to contact the children's caregivers.

We were very fortunate to have Rev. Wilson Goode with us during the rally. He motivated us to reclaim our children in Oklahoma that have for so long been victims of the prison cycle. Rev. Goode provided much insight and direction for all stakeholders, and good news! He's planning to come back! We'll be sure to let you know when!
