Sponsored by the Oklahoma United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries. Recreational activities include fishing, hiking, canoeing, softball, basketball, swimming and games.

Additional Camp Information & Upcoming Mentor Training Dates

Children of Promise - Mentors of Hope works closely with several community agencies in order to identify and often contact children and mentors for our program.

One of these valued organizations is Camp New Hope which conducts camps specifically for children of incarcerated parents. Although we have listed the camp dates in a previous Blog, we wanted to share the website as well in the hopes that many of you who visit this site will find it useful.

Summer Madness Event for Central Oklahoma

Time to Start Planning Summer Fun!

Fishing Classes

Free fishing classes are offered for children ages 5-15 and their parents. They are offered on Saturdays in June, July and August from 8:00am-10:00am. Poles, tackle and bait will be provided. Children must enroll by calling 297-1137. Enrollment begins May 15th

Home Depot Kids Workshop


The Home Depot holds kids workshops on the first Saturday of each month. The workshops are available for children ages 5-12. Each child receives an orange “Home Depot” apron, an achievement pin and they get to take home their project. The Home Depot Kids Workshops are free.

Martin Park Nature Center

Martin Park Nature Center is an educational facility and wildlife sanctuary. They are open from Wednesday-Sunday from 9:00am-6:00pm. Admission is free. On Saturdays throughout the year children ages 9-13 are invited to participate in the Green Earth Gang. They will participate in many conservation projects. Weekend guided tours are available. The Martin Park Nature Center is located at 5000 W Memorial. Their phone number is 755-0676.

Lakeshore Learning Center

The Lakeshore Learning Center offers free craft activities for children ages 3 and up. They are offered every Saturday from 11:00am-3:00pm. Lakeshore Learning Center is located at 6300 N. May Ave. Their phone number is 858-8778.
